Kuwait, Dec. 16 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, has passed away, the Kuwaiti Emir Diwan (Court) has announced.

"With great sadness and sorrow, the Amiri Diwan mourns the passing of His Highness, the late Amir of Kuwait HH Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah," a statement from the Amiri Diwan said.

The statement offered condolences to the people of Kuwait, Arab and Islamic nations, and the world, praying to God to grant the soul of the deceased mercy and eternal peace.
