Abu Dhabi, Oct. 27 (WAM):  His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has issued a Federal Decree establishing Erth Zayed Philanthropies to expand the UAE’s global humanitarian and development efforts.  The foundation, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, will consolidate key global philanthropic initiatives under the patronage of His Highness, enhancing the UAE’s reach and impact in international philanthropy.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, highlighted that Erth Zayed Philanthropies reflects the UAE’s commitment to amplifying its humanitarian influence.  He described it as a unifying effort to strengthen the impact and coherence of the nation’s humanitarian endeavours, embodying the enduring legacy of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and delivering positive change worldwide.

His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, underscored the UAE’s heritage of philanthropy, driven by a mission to enhance wellbeing, empower individuals, and foster global stability.  Erth Zayed Philanthropies, he noted, will advance this legacy, reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in international development and commitment to sustainable global impact.

The foundation will oversee programmes across key sectors, including global health, education, food and water security, energy, climate, sustainability, and social innovation.  Erth Zayed Philanthropies will encompass existing initiatives such as the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, Emirates Foundation, and the Mohamed Bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund, alongside awards like the Zayed Sustainability Prize and the Khalifa Award for Education.

Through a collaborative approach, Erth Zayed Philanthropies will align these entities towards a shared vision, leveraging its resources and expertise to foster lasting change across communities worldwide.
