Man City lose fourth in a row after defeat by Brighton
Brighton, Nov. 10 (BNA): Manchester City suffered their fourth straight defeat in all competitions, falling 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday. Late goals from substitutes Joao Pedro and Matt O'Riley secured Brighton's comeback, leaving City second in the league with 23 points from 11 games.
City had looked set to break their losing streak when Erling Haaland scored in the 23rd minute, extending his league lead to 12 goals. However, Brighton equalised in the 78th minute through Pedro, capitalising on a failed clearance to beat Ederson.
Despite only 39.5% possession, Brighton applied pressure, with a close chance early in the second half when Jack Hinshelwood’s header was saved by Ederson, Reuters reported.
This loss follows City's recent defeats to Tottenham in the League Cup, Bournemouth in the league, and Sporting in the Champions League, prompting Bernardo Silva to admit the team is in a "dark place."
