Manama, Jan. 28 (BNA): As part of the commitment of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, to children with autism and ongoing support for programmes that enhance their therapeutic, psychological and social wellbeing, the Therapeutic Equestrian Centre of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), in cooperation with the Nasser bin Hamad Golf Academy, organised a training and recreational event coinciding with the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship 2026. The event aimed to increase activity and focus among children with autism as part of a series of initiatives that combine therapy with sports and recreational activities.

The event included several children with autism spectrum disorder and featured training and recreational programmes designed to develop concentration, sensory and motor interaction, and self-confidence, while promoting psychological balance in a safe and stimulating environment. Training teams from the Nasser bin Hamad Golf Academy worked directly with the children, providing programmes that helped develop motor skills and improve focus and activity levels.

Haya Jamal, Director of the Therapeutic Equestrian Centre, thanked HH Shaikh Nasser bin for the continued support and emphasised that the event aligns with the centre’s vision of using sport as an effective therapeutic tool.
