Manama, Aug. 22 (BNA): The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) accredited Abdulrahman Abdulqader, VAR Project Manager at the Bahrain Football Association, and Majdi Al Doseri, Head of IT, as VAR Information Officers (VIOs) after completing a workshop in Kuala Lumpur.

The accreditation underscores the advanced standing of Bahraini talent at the continental level, as the workshop reviewed international best practices in Video Assistant Referee (VAR) implementation.

Their selection reflects the commitment of the Association’s Board of Directors, chaired by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and supported by Vice President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, to empowering national professionals and ensuring active regional representation.

The AFC accreditation of VIOs for the 2025–2026 season qualifies them to manage technical duties in continental competitions. The Bahrain Football Association continues efforts to enhance refereeing systems and expand VAR use in line with international standards, locally and across Asian tournaments.
