GCC Sec Gen discuss free trade agreement with Japanese official
Tokyo, July 8 (BNA): Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, met with Kato Akiyoshi, Japan’s Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, to review progress in the second round of GCC and Japan Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations.
The meeting, held as part of Al Budaiwi’s official visit to Japan, focused on enhancing trade and investment cooperation and advancing FTA talks in support of mutual economic interests, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
The two sides affirmed that the agreement represents a strategic step toward expanding trade exchange and strengthening long term economic ties.
Al Budaiwi highlighted key economic indicators from the GCC region, emphasising its strong performance, sustained growth, and increasing global relevance, which continue to attract international interest.
