Manama, Nov. 25 (BNA): As Bahrain prepares to host the inaugural World Para-Taekwondo Poomsae Championship 2024, set for 26-27 and 29 November, the Kingdom will also welcome participants for the Bahrain Open Para-Taekwondo Championship 2024. Delegations from across the globe have begun arriving for these events.

 Ali Mohammed Al Majed, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, wished the delegations a pleasant stay in Bahrain. He highlighted the organisation of these championships as part of the committee’s vision, guided by the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS). He also noted the support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, in promoting all sports, including Paralympic disciplines.

 Al Majed stated that hosting these championships reflects Bahrain's global standing and its proven ability to successfully organise various sporting events. He added that the championships will boost sports tourism, benefiting the local economy and enhancing Bahrain’s reputation on the international sports stage.

 Al Majed expressed pride in the efforts of all stakeholders, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to supporting sports and athletes. He emphasised the Kingdom’s aspirations for significant success in these championships.
