HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali crowns Algeria as Arab Men’s Basketball Champions
Manama, Aug. 2 (BNA): The 26th Arab Men’s Basketball Championship concluded successfully under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC, presented Algeria as champions after their unbeaten run.
Ismail Al Gergawi, President of the Arab Basketball Confederation, presented the Tunisian team silver medals for finishing second, while Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the GSA, presented bronze medals to the UAE team for third place.
Individual awards went to Mustafa Hussein (three-point scorer), Demarcus from the UAE (top scorer), and Jakard Samoon (best player). The event was commended for strong competition, sportsmanship, and large spectator support.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali commended the teams’ performances and Bahrain’s successful hosting, emphasising the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to supporting and hosting Arab sports events.
