Paris, Feb. 7 (BNA): President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE and President Emmanuel Macron of France discussed their longstanding strategic partnership and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in economic, investment, cultural, climate action, energy, advanced technology, and artificial intelligence during a meeting at Élysée Palace.

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), both leaders reviewed aspects that align with their shared vision for sustainable development and prosperity. They also addressed regional and international developments, reaffirming their commitment to continued consultation and cooperation to promote peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, who arrived in Paris yesterday for an official visit, highlighted the strong collaboration between the UAE and France in energy and climate action. He noted that the two nations established a Comprehensive Strategic Energy Partnership in 2022 and launched the UAE-France Bilateral Climate Investment Platform last year. He also emphasised their commitment to the responsible use of artificial intelligence for global development and their cooperation in protecting world heritage.

During the visit, the two presidents witnessed the signing of the UAE-France Framework for Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence. The agreement aims to invest in a 1GW AI campus in France while fostering a strategic AI partnership. It includes exploring new opportunities for AI-related projects and investments, such as advanced chip applications, data centre infrastructure, talent development, and the creation of Virtual Data Embassies to strengthen AI and cloud infrastructure in both countries.
