HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali attends closing ceremony of West Asia Clubs Table Tennis Championship
Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended the closing ceremony of the West Asia Clubs Table Tennis Championship, held at the Isa bin Rashid Table Tennis Arena under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali crowned Bahrain Club champions of the women’s competition following their 3–1 victory over Kuwait’s Al Fatat Club in the final. He also presented the men’s title to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad Club after their 3–1 win against Qatar SC.
His Highness commended Bahrain Club’s women’s team for their performance, noting that their results reflected consistency throughout the championship.
He noted the strong level of play across the tournament and said the event provided an important platform for West Asian clubs.
His Highness noted the continued development of table tennis in the region and underscored the efforts of clubs and federations in supporting athletes. He congratulated the winning teams and wished the others success in future competitions.
He added that hosting such championships helps strengthen sporting ties between clubs and supports wider efforts to grow individual sports. His Highness emphasised the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s commitment to initiatives that advance table tennis at both the local and regional levels, and acknowledged the contributions of the host club, Bahrain Club, and the Bahrain Table Tennis Association.
