NPRA team wins Police Open 3x3 Basketball Championship
Manama, Sep. 11 (BNA): The Public Security Sports Association concluded the Police Open 3x3 Basketball Championship, hosted at Muharraq Club Sports Hall, in the presence of Inspector-General Major-General Abdullah Mohammed Al Zayed, along with several directors and officials from the Interior Ministry.
The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) team won the championship after defeating the Capital Governorate Police Directorate team in the final with a score of 21–20, in a match marked by strong competition.
Inspector-General Al Zayed highlighted that the Police Open Basketball Championship reflects the Interior Ministry’s commitment to supporting sports activities among its personnel, helping to enhance cooperation and establish sport as a lifestyle that positively affects professional performance.
On his part, Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, President of the Public Security Sports Association, explained that organising this championship is part of the programmes the association implements to encourage sport in the police work environment and enhance positive competition among ministry personnel.
The championship featured 12 teams from various Interior Ministry departments, alongside several Bahraini national basketball players who participated as professionals, reinforcing community partnership.
