Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Sakhir Palace.

His Majesty the King welcomed His Excellency the Prime Minister, noting that his visit reflects the mutual commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnership.

His Majesty commended His Excellency the Prime Minister's participation in the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference, currently taking place in Bahrain.

The meeting discussed the development of strategic ties between the two countries and their cooperation in various domains, particularly in the economy, trade, and investment, and explored opportunities for further expansion to achieve mutual benefits.

His Majesty expressed Bahrain’s pride in its strong and growing ties with Malaysia, reaffirming the commitment of both leaderships to enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The meeting also covered regional and international developments, along with exchanges of views on issues of mutual interest.

On his part, His Excellency Prime Minister Ibrahim expressed his appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty the King for the welcome and hospitality, commending His Majesty’s role in strengthening the historic ties between the two countries.
