GCC Secretary General commends Bahrain’s leadership in advancing joint GCC cooperation
Manama, Nov. 13 (BNA): Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), said that Bahrain’s hosting of the 46th session of the GCC Supreme Council underscores the Kingdom’s leading role in supporting the progress of joint Gulf cooperation.
He noted that the opening of the GCC pavilion at the Bahrain National Museum, held alongside the summit, reflects the depth of Gulf relations and Bahrain’s comprehensive preparations to ensure the success of this important regional event.
In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Albudaiwi expressed his sincere appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continued support to the GCC and its collective work. He said the Secretariat General looks forward to Bahrain’s presidency of the upcoming session and is confident in the Kingdom’s ability to lead the next phase with wisdom and competence.
Albudaiwi said the 46th Gulf Summit carries particular importance, given the essential topics on its agenda, which directly relate to the lives of GCC citizens and include strategic files concerning security, the economy, and sustainable development.
He added that the GCC Pavilion highlights the Council’s journey since its establishment, its stages of development, and the achievements made across military, economic, trade, educational, and health cooperation. He noted that the exhibits present these milestones through interactive displays that allow visitors to gain a deeper understanding of Gulf integration.
The Secretary General invited citizens and residents in Bahrain to visit the pavilion and learn more about the history and achievements of the GCC, noting that the initiative reflects the Council’s commitment to engaging the community in its developmental progress.
