HH Shaikh Nasser, HH Shaikh Khalid attend third round of Bahrain International Trophy
Manama, Jan. 17 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), attended the third round of the fourth edition of the Bahrain International Trophy.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust, the event took place during the 13th race of the 2024/2025 racing season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Al Raffah.
The races featured several prestigious trophies, including the HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, the Cups of HH Shaikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and HH Shaikh Salman bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, as well as the Al Adiyat Cup, the Al Wasmiya Cup, and the Huntsman Cup.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the event alongside other dignitaries, prominent guests, and representatives of sponsoring organisations. The large audience enjoyed the competitive spirit and vibrant atmosphere of the evening.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned the winners, presenting the second race trophy to Trainer George Scott, the third race trophy to HH Shaikh Isa bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the fourth race trophy to Trainer Haider Ebrahim, and the sixth race trophy to Jockey Seamie Heffernan. HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented the first race trophy to Trainer Jaffar Marzooq, while Taj Phull, General Manager of Huntsman, awarded the fifth race trophy to Trainer George Scott.
In the third round of the Bahrain International Championship, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, leader of Victorious Team, received the Al Adiyat Cup, sponsored by Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo, after Phantom Flight secured first place in the sixth race. The trophy was presented by Fawzi Ahmed Kanoo, Deputy Chairman of Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, and Nabeel Khalid Kanoo, Chairman of Kanoo Capital.
Additionally, Ahmed Fawzi Kanoo, a Board Member of the National Bank of Bahrain, presented the Al Wasmiya Cup, sponsored by the National Bank of Bahrain, to owner Hasan Abdulla, whose horse Ava Go Joe won the fifth race.
