Cairo, Jan. 21 (BNA): The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) announced that its seismic monitoring stations recorded a 3.5-magnitude earthquake 128 kilometres from Sharm El Sheikh.
The institute said the tremor occurred at 7:26 AM Cairo local time, at a depth of 13 kilometres, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.
It added that reports were received of the earthquake being felt by some residents, with no casualties or material damage recorded.
