Egypt rejects any plan to liquidate the Palestinian cause through forced displacement
Cairo, Feb. 6 (BNA): Egypt has warned of the serious repercussions of statements issued by several Israeli government members regarding the implementation of a plan to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land, affirming that such statements constitute a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
According to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs stressed that these irresponsible statements could have disastrous consequences, as they obstruct ceasefire negotiations, fuel the possibility of renewed conflict, and pose a threat to regional stability and the foundations of peace.
Egypt reiterated its firm rejection of any plan or proposal aimed at eliminating the Palestinian cause by forcibly displacing Palestinians and seizing their land, affirming that it will not be part of any such initiative. The ministry warned of the grave consequences of these policies, which violate the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Egypt also underscored the need to address the root causes of the conflict, highlighting the ongoing occupation and the suffering of Palestinians due to displacement and discrimination. It called for an immediate end to these practices and for Palestinians to regain their legitimate rights in accordance with international resolutions.
The ministry further reaffirmed the importance of implementing the ceasefire in Gaza through its three phases and ensuring its permanence. It expressed Egypt’s readiness to work with international partners to implement early recovery plans, rubble removal, and reconstruction efforts within a defined timeframe, while ensuring that Palestinians remain in Gaza.
