HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad attends Lama’a programme closing ceremony
Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, attended the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the Lama’a programme.
Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, along with representatives of supporting organisations and participating youth.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted that Lama’a graduates have become inspiring leaders for Bahrain’s youth, embodying perseverance and overcoming challenges.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasised the graduates’ role in contributing to a more sustainable future for the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who has made youth empowerment a national priority.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad commended Lama’a participants' efforts in overcoming challenges designed to test their abilities. He highlighted their contributions to Bahrain’s progress and innovators in addressing future challenges.
As part of the ceremony, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad honoured programme partners, including strategic partner Bapco Energies; platinum partners Al Salam Bank, Foulath Holding, and GFH Financial Group; gold partner SICO Bank; and knowledge partner Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF).
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad also awarded top performers in the Lama’a programme, including Ahmed Mohammed Al Mahzaa from Al Salam Bank, Ahmed Mohammed Al Awadhi from the Ministry of Education, and Dr. Dhabiya Abdulaziz Al Sada from the Primary Healthcare Centers.
The ceremony featured a speech by Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Lama’a Associations Board of Directors, who highlighted the programme’s development. She noted that 542 participants from 278 institutions took part in this edition, with 40 finalists selected after rigorous assessments.
Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid noted that the programme was supported by 60 organiations, providing 216 hours of training and, for the first time, incorporating artificial intelligence solutions to address real-world challenges.
Shaikha Dwa bint Khalid also highlighted a key milestone, the Himalayan training camp in Nepal, where 12 top qualifiers underwent a week-long expedition, enhancing their leadership skills and adaptability in extreme conditions.
Representing the participants, Lama’a graduate Ibtisam Bahar expressed appreciation for HH Shaikh Nasser’s support. She described Lama’a commended the program for providing a life-changing experience for the participants.
