SCH Chairman highlights international accreditation of NHRA accreditation team training programme
Manama, Sep. 12 (BNA): Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), emphasised that the healthcare sector in the Kingadom of Bahrain continues to progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He said these achievements are driven by dedicated national competencies working to advance healthcare services and reinforce Bahrain’s regional and international standing as a model for healthcare and investment in the sector.
The statement came as the training programme of the national health institutions accreditation team at the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) obtained international accreditation from the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua EEA). The SCH Chairman said the accreditation represents a key step in sustaining the delivery of high quality healthcare services, commending NHRA’s efforts and its commitment to international standards of excellence.
Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, said Bahrain’s healthcare sector is advancing through sustainable programmes focused on quality and community safety. She said this achievement raises medical standards, empowers national personnel, and strengthens professionalism, ensuring quality services for citizens and residents. She noted that NHRA’s international accreditation reflects the dedication of national staff who continue to deliver outcomes that the Kingdom is proud of.
Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, NHRA Chief Executive Officer, said the accreditation marks a milestone in the Kingdom’s commitment to the highest standards of healthcare quality and excellence in training national personnel. He added that the accreditation team will continue its efforts to achieve distinction and efficiency through planning and development, contributing to the sustainability of the national healthcare system.
Launched in 2017, the national health institutions accreditation programme has been a key element in improving the efficiency of health institutions through partnerships with stakeholders, enhancing competitiveness, and attracting quality healthcare investments.
During the event, accreditation certificates were awarded to national health institutions, with recognition given to institutions that renewed their accreditation. NHRA’s Accreditation and Quality Group, the national accreditation committee, and technical and administrative committees were also honoured for their contributions to achieving this milestone.
