Manama, Oct. 9 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at Al Safriya Palace, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM King’s Personal Representative, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and National Security Advisor, and senior officials.

The meeting discussed topics related to advancing Bahrain’s comprehensive development process and enhancing national achievements for the benefit of the Kingdom and its citizens.

His Majesty the King commended the outcomes of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s successful official visit last week to the State of the Vatican and the Italian Republic, during which His Royal Highness met with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, Head of the Catholic Church, Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy, and senior officials. His Majesty highlighted the importance of the visit in strengthening the long-standing historical partnerships and expanding areas of joint cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Vatican, and Italy.

In light of the Royal Decree inviting the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives to convene for the opening of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term next week, His Majesty underscored the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the executive and legislative branches, in a manner that supports national development goals and creates further opportunities for Bahraini citizens.

HM King said that the agreement reached to end the war in Gaza marks a day of peace for the Middle East and the world. His Majesty expressed appreciation to His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, for his efforts in promoting peace in the Middle East and for his role in supporting this historic agreement.

HM King reiterated Bahrain’s firm support for the agreement and stressed the importance of all parties honouring their commitments and responsibilities in its implementation. His Majesty also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the mediators who contributed to achieving this outcome.
