Manama, Feb. 25 (BNA): Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, chaired the periodic meeting of the Youth Empowerment Committee in the public and private sectors, held at the Bahrain Scientific Centre for Sustainable Development Goals.

Minister Tawfiqi affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to further strengthening youth participation across the Kingdom’s national development pathways through the establishment of effective partnerships, the launch of high-impact initiatives, and the provision of practical frameworks that enable young people to progress from participation to leadership and meaningful impact across various sectors.

The minister underscored the Committee’s keenness to enhance integration and coordination among entities in both the public and private sectors, in a manner that positively contributes to the formulation of qualitative policies and initiatives aimed at elevating youth engagement across diverse fields. Such efforts, she noted, reinforce the role of young people as active partners in decision-making processes and contributors to accelerating national development.

She further emphasised that youth empowerment requires a supportive and enabling environment that opens broad horizons for growth and advancement, while fostering innovation and creativity. She highlighted the importance of advancing ideas and initiatives that position youth as influential role models capable of generating sustainable and positive impact across society.

The meeting reviewed a number of agenda items, foremost among them follow-up on the implementation of the Committee’s resolutions and assessment of progress achieved. Participants also examined a package of proposed qualitative initiatives designed to empower youth, refine their skills, and develop their creative and leadership capabilities across multiple domains.

In addition, the meeting addressed topics aimed at maximising youth contributions and highlighting their national initiatives, while shedding light on their vital role in the Kingdom’s comprehensive development process. This reflects the Committee’s ongoing commitment to advancing youth-supportive policies and programmes and to reinforcing their presence as essential partners in shaping the future of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
