Ministers visit 2030 Youth City, Youth Minister stresses importance of investing in youth

Manama, Aug. 1 (BNA): Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, visited the 2030 Youth City, where she praised the initiative as a vibrant model for empowering young Bahrainis and preparing them to play a central role in the nation’s future development.

The minister toured various facilities within the city, which offers a diverse range of programmes in leadership, entrepreneurship, science, technology, the arts, and health. The visit provided an opportunity to witness first-hand how the Youth City is equipping young people with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Speaking during the visit, Minister Tawfeeqi highlighted the significance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision, describing it as a driving force behind Bahrain’s commitment to investing in its youth. She noted that His Majesty’s recent visit to the Youth City underscored the leadership’s strong belief in the role of young people as active partners in national progress.

She also commended the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, whose directives have accelerated youth-focused development and encouraged the adoption of innovative initiatives tailored to the future needs of Bahrain.

The minister described the 2030 Youth City as a national platform that fosters talent and empowers young Bahrainis to take initiative, noting that the energy and leadership displayed by participants highlight the tangible outcomes of sustained investment in youth development.

The minister further underscored the leadership and vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, whose continued support has helped create a dynamic and opportunity-rich environment for youth innovation and engagement.

Ministers taking part in the visit included Yasser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs; Jalila bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health; Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning; Fatima bint Jaffer Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism; Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information; Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce; and Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development. They were showcased various youth-led initiatives and discussed how government agencies could continue to collaborate in strengthening the national youth development agenda.
