Saudi teams raise medal tally to 22 at Islamic solidarity games
Riyadh, Nov. 13 (BNA): Saudi Arabia’s teams competing in the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games (Riyadh 2025) increased their medal count to 22 medals: five gold, one silver, and 16 bronze. The team captured nine medals on Wednesday.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the first medal of the day came from Raef Alturkistani of the Saudi Esports team, who clinched gold in Tekken 8 after a thrilling 3–2 victory over his Bahraini opponent in the final.
In karate, Sanad Sufyani earned gold in the over 84 kg weight category, defeating his Iranian opponent 4–0 in the final. Mohammed Al-Asiri followed with another gold, winning the under 67 kg category after a 3–1 victory against his Jordanian rival.
The Saudi Esports team continued its dominance, taking gold in Rocket League with a 4–1 win over Kuwait.
In weightlifting, Ali Al-Khazal wrapped up Saudi Arabia’s participation by securing two bronze medals in the 110 kg category.
The karate team concluded its campaign with two more bronze medals; Malak Al Khalidi in the under-61 kg category and Sultan Al-Zahrani in the under-75 kg category.
Finally, the Saudi table tennis team earned bronze in the doubles competition, marking a strong finish to their participation in the tournament.
