Egyptian President meets IFC Managing Director
Cairo, June 15 (BNA): Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, met with Makhtar Diop, Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
According to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), President El Sisi emphasised Egypt’s commitment to continue cooperation with the IFC, especially in light of the current regional circumstances that pose significant challenges to development programmes.
Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy said that the meeting discussed opportunities for joint efforts to enhance investment flows into Egypt and to provide financing for the private sector. President El Sisi underlined the importance of ensuring that financing is offered at competitive rates to reduce costs.
The IFC Managing Director commended Egypt’s economic reform measures and confirmed the continuation of joint programmes between both sides to enhance cooperation and support the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.
