Washington, Jan. 26 (BNA): A private jet crashed in flames as it was taking off from Bangor International Airport in the US state of Maine on its way from Texas.

According to Reuters, the US Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement, adding that a twin-engine turbofan jet, Bombardier Challenger 600 crashed during takeoff from Bangor Airport.

A government official said that the fate ⁠and identities of the eight people on board the plane were not immediately known.
