Deputy Interior Minister leads Bahrain’s delegation to GCC Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption
Kuwait, Oct. 23 (BNA): Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Deputy Minister of Interior, led the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the 11th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption, held in the State of Kuwait. The meeting brought together senior officials and heads of integrity and anti-corruption authorities from GCC member states.
Al Fadhel conveyed the greetings of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, to the participants, and expressed appreciation to the State of Kuwait for its excellent organisation. He commended the ongoing Gulf efforts to strengthen cooperation and align positions in promoting integrity and combating corruption.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the committee’s role in advancing collective GCC efforts to protect public resources and uphold transparency and accountability, in line with the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states.
The meeting reviewed several key items on its agenda, including the draft manual for parallel financial investigations in corruption cases, the public funds protection system, the draft guide on the liability of legal persons for corruption offences, the reference framework for the Financial Investigation Experts Committee, the GCC Integrity and Anti-Corruption Excellence Award, a memorandum of understanding between the GCC Secretariat-General and the International Anti-Corruption Academy, and the joint GCC strategy to combat corruption.
