BTEA CEO visits Bahrain Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka
Osaka, Apr. 16 (BNA): Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), visited the Kingdom of Bahrain's national pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
During her visit, Buhiji emphasised that the pavilion contributes to highlighting the Kingdom's unique tourism attractions, particularly its rich history and maritime heritage, in addition to new projects that focus on achieving a balance between developing the tourism sector and economic growth, protecting the environment, and preserving cultural and historical heritage.
She noted that highlighting the sea through the national pavilion supports the waterfront tourism and water activities of the 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy, which the BTEA seeks to further develop in an integrated manner, making optimal use of the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as the only archipelagic country in the Middle East. This will support strengthening the Kingdom's position on the global tourism map.
Buhiji also expressed the Authority’s aspiration to continue building effective partnerships during the Expo to highlight Bahraini culture, which is a key tourism attraction.
She also emphasised the continued development of conference and business tourism, thanks to the establishment of the Exhibition World Bahrain Centre (EWB), the most modern in the Middle East, highlighting the Kingdom of Bahrain's excellence in sports tourism through organising and hosting major international sporting events.
Buhiji added that through the Kingdom of Bahrain's pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025, which will be held over six months, visitors will be able to experience the unique qualities of the Bahraini people, who serve as cultural ambassadors for their country and a major tourist attraction. Volunteers participating in the pavilion will help showcase Bahraini culture and its openness to others.
