Foreign Minister to BNA: The Kingdom of Bahrain supports holding an emergency Arab summit in Cairo
Manama, Feb. 07 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain supported holding an emergency Arab summit in Cairo, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).
The Kingdom’s stance comes within the framework of its presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit.
Dr. Al Zayani emphasised the importance of continuing political consultations among Arab states regarding recent developments in the region, with the aim of de-escalation, maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza, facilitating urgent access for humanitarian assistance to civilians, and advancing efforts to complete the release of hostages and detainees.
Dr. Al Zayani highlighted that the Arab stance on the Palestinian cause remains steadfast and unified. He noted that comprehensive peace in the Middle East depends on safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people, preventing their displacement from their lands, and establishing an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty, enabling peaceful coexistence with Israel in line with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
