Jordanian Monarch, Albanian President hold talks on expanding cooperation
Amman, Feb. 23 (BNA): His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan held talks with Bajram Begaj, President of the Republic of Albania, at Al Husseiniya Palace, focusing on means to expand cooperation and enhance relations between Jordan and Albania.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the discussions addressed enhancing bilateral relations and building on last year’s exchange of visits, including a round of Aqaba Process meetings in Albania, as well as the overall situation in the region.
His Majesty King Abdullah II expressed appreciation for Albania’s support for efforts to restore stability and achieve peace based on the two-state solution, emphasising the need to respect the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states. His Majesty also stressed the importance of intensifying international efforts to halt illegal measures aimed at consolidating settlements and imposing Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank, warning of the danger posed by continued violations against Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
His Majesty King Abdullah II reiterated the need for full implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza and for the delivery of humanitarian aid to all areas.
On his part, President Begaj said his visit to Jordan would contribute to strengthening partnership in investment, security, tourism, and development, noting the potential to enhance joint economic cooperation and the importance of encouraging exchanges between the two peoples, including establishing a direct flight between the countries.
The Albanian president expressed his country’s commitment to promoting stability and prosperity in the region and the world, commending His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership in supporting peace efforts through the two-state solution.
