Manama, Feb. 23 (BNA):  His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), at Safriya Palace.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, accompanied by the GSA’s Board of Directors, presented His Majesty the King with the authority’s annual report for 2023-2024, outlining the Kingdom of Bahrain’s recent sports achievements.

His Majesty expressed appreciation for HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad’s efforts in advancing the sports sector, particularly initiatives supporting youth, such as the Golden Generation Games, which has developed a new wave of competitive athletes.  His Majesty also commended the GSA’s national action programme which outlines Bahrain’s sports development strategy.

HM the King commended Bahraini athletes for their international successes, raising Bahrain’s flag in global sporting events, and highlighted HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad’s continuous efforts and dedication to the sector.  His Majesty wished him and all Bahraini youth further success in achieving more milestones for the nation.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad expressed his deep gratitude to His Majesty for his unwavering support for Bahrain’s sports sector, which has played a pivotal role in securing continued achievements and strengthening the kingdom’s presence on regional, continental, and international platforms.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also expressed the pride of the GSA’s board in presenting the annual report to His Majesty, highlighting key milestones and achievements in Bahraini sports, along with the authority’s executive programmes aligned with the King’s directives.
