Manama, Dec. 13 (BNA): A delegation from the Parliamentary Division, led by Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives and member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), will participate in the 40th extraordinary meeting of the AIPU Executive Committee, scheduled to be held this week in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

 The delegation includes MP Zainab Abdulameer Khalil, Deputy Head of the delegation; MP Hisham Abdulaziz Al Awadhi; MP Khalid Saleh Buanaq; and MP Jameel Mulla Hassan.

 The meeting will discuss the report of the temporary financial committee chaired by Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, assigned by Ibrahim Boughali, President of the AIPU.

 Agenda items also include the report of the AIPU General Secretariat and the report of the Parliamentary Diplomacy Committee regarding proposed amendments to the mechanism for voting on urgent items during the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. The committee will additionally review the emergency item to be submitted by the Arab Group at the 152nd IPU General Assembly, to be held in Türkiye next April.

 The meeting will also determine the date and venue of the next Executive Committee meeting, as well as the date, venue and agenda of the 39th AIPU Conference.
