Manama, Jan. 27 (BNA):  His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa ratified and issued Law (1) of 2026 amending Article (219) of Decree-Law (54) of 2002 regarding the Internal Regulation of the Council of Representatives, following its approval by the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.

The law mandates the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives to prepare and submit the audited final account within three months of the end of the financial year, sets out the procedures for its review by the Speaker and the Bureau of the Council, allows its referral to the Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs for examination and reporting, and stipulates that the approval and issuance of the final account shall follow the same procedures applied to the Council’s budget.

The law shall come into effect the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
