Manama, June 17 (BNA):   His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate and Chairman of the Security Committee, chaired the sixth meeting of the Security Committee for this year.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al Khayyat, Deputy Governor; Colonel Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Deputy Director General of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate; along with a number of officers representing various security departments of the Ministry of Interior.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali commended the ongoing coordination with relevant departments, noting its key role in bolstering security, safety, and partnership, in line with directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali underscored the Governorate’s commitment to continued collaboration with the National Civil Emergency Management Committee.   He commended the committee’s efforts in ensuring full preparedness for shelter centres, rapid response capabilities, and public awareness, to safeguard the well-being of citizens and residents.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali was briefed on the security preparations by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate for the upcoming month of Muharram.  He emphasised the importance of sustained coordination and planning with relevant security agencies and heads of matams (community centres) to ensure a safe and organised observance.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali also reviewed the summer initiatives implemented by the Community Police Directorate of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate alongside the General Directorate of Civil Defence.  These initiatives are designed to enhance security and safety in public areas and facilities while simultaneously strengthening public awareness and safety education.
