HM King receives letter from Foreign Minister of Fiji
Manama, Mar. 17 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a written letter from Sakiasi R Ditoka, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of the Republic of Fiji.
Minister Ditoka expressed deep concern about the growing tension in the Middle East, which has sadly impacted the Kingdom of Bahrain. He stressed that the Republic of Fiji strongly speaks out against any military attacks that target regular people or public buildings and services in the Arab Gulf states. He noted that these attacks cause innocent people to suffer, something that is completely unacceptable under all international rules and standards.
The minister stressed that such hostile acts not only contradict the rules of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter but also work to undermine the security and stability of the entire region. He affirmed his country's total rejection of the targeting of the territories of states that are not party to the conflict.
Minister Ditoka also affirmed the Republic of Fiji’s full solidarity with the Arab states in facing these challenges, expressing his sincere wishes for the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain for continued peace, security, and stability under the leadership of His Majesty the King.
