SCH Chairman launches BBK Health Centre

Manama, Jan. 29 (BNA): Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), laid the foundations for the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) Health Center in Galali, Muharraq.

The SCH Chairman expressed his appreciation to BBK for its continuous support, which comes under the bank's keenness to support the health sector.

Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah affirmed the importance of supporting the health sector through various projects, as part of the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, affirmed the ministry's commitment to strengthening cooperation with various parties to implement development projects aimed at enhancing the infrastructure, as well as supporting health centers in developing their programmes and strategic plans.

He said that the health centre is designed to meet the highest engineering standards, in addition to providing requirements for sustainability and green buildings and implementing a policy of reducing energy consumption.

Al Hawaj noted that the project will cover 6,828 square meters and have two floors. This building will include 14 consulting clinics, 14 nurse examination rooms, 12 emergency rooms, eight dental clinics, administrative offices, and a Maternal and Child Health Department.

Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, underscored Bahrain's commitment to establishing development projects that will improve health facilities and services, following the highest standards and quality.

Dr. Abdulwahab Mohammed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Primary Health Care, noted the important role the private sector plays in adopting important health projects.

Abdulrahman Saif, BBK Group CEO, said the project reflects the bank's social responsibility towards the kingdom, noting that it is one of the largest health projects in Bahrain that will provide health services to Galali and surrounding areas.

They affirmed BBK's commitment to bolstering cooperation with partners in the public sector and other sectors in implementing this project.
