IPA Director General receives participants of Qeyadat Programme
Manama, Oct. 19 (BNA): Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), received the participants of the 35th batch of the "Qeyadat" (Leaderships) programme, organised by the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) as part of the national programme for developing government leaders.
Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa emphasised the importance of equipping government leaders, specifically directors and their equivalents, with advanced communication skills that enable them to effectively engage with various official media outlets. These capabilities are essential to enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s visibility and leadership both locally and internationally.
The Director General explained that adding a communication and influence module to the programme reflects the Institute’s aim to equip participants with modern tools for analysing the media and understanding its impact on their organisation’s reputation. She highlighted the Institute’s commitment to using diverse learning methods, like practical training and simulations, to help participants develop strong media skills, represent their organisations effectively, and showcase Bahrain’s achievements locally and internationally.
Ahmed Khaled Al Araifi, CEO of the National Communication Centre (NCC), emphasised that continued investment in the development of government leaders is a strategic pillar for achieving excellence in Bahrain’s government communication system. He noted that building leadership capacity across different sectors capable of adapting to integrated communication plans contributes to strengthening the government communication framework in line with a comprehensive national vision.
This vision showcases Bahrain’s accomplishments, initiatives, and aspirations, positioning government communication as a key driver for sustainable development. He also commended the Institute’s focus on integrating government communication into its programmes, which supports the efforts of the NCC.
Al Araifi highlighted the Centre’s role in promoting partnership and synergy among communication departments across government entities. He highlighted the importance of working in the spirit of "Team Bahrain" to establish a culture of effective communication founded on transparency, professionalism, and innovation.
He affirmed the NCC's continued efforts to develop communication skills and enhance the readiness of national cadres, thereby improving the overall efficiency of the communication sector and furthering Bahrain’s positive image and the achievements of its people in all sectors.
