Canadian Prime Minister to visit India, Australia, Japan

Toronto, Feb. 24 (BNA): His Excellency Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, will begin an official tour to India, Australia and Japan this week.

HE the Prime Minister’s office announced that HE Prime Minister Carney will first visit Mumbai on Thursday for talks with His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, and business leaders, according to the Associated Press (AP).

During a stop in Canberra, HE Prime Minister Carney will address both houses of Australia’s Parliament, making him the first Canadian prime minister to do so in 20 years.

HE the Prime Minister will also meet with His Excellency Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, to discuss defence and AI advancement.

HE Prime Minister Carney will then head to Tokyo to meet with Her Excellency Takaichi Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, to discuss clean energy, critical minerals and food security.

HE the Prime Minister said that Canada is focusing on what it can control, diversifying trade and attracting significant new investment.
