Egyptian, Moroccan foreign ministers discuss bilateral cooperation, regional issues
Cairo, Aug. 22 (BNA): Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, received a phone call from Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, during which they discussed means to strengthen relations and regional and international developments of shared concern.
The two ministers emphasised the deep historic ties and close relations between Egypt and Morocco, reiterating their commitment to advancing cooperation to reflect the strength of their relations. They also emphasised the importance of enhancing political consultation, economic and investment cooperation, and expanding cultural and educational exchange to meet the aspirations of both peoples and reinforce mutual interests.
The call also addressed developments related to the Palestinian issue, as well as the situations in Syria, Lebanon, Libya, and Sudan. On the African level, the ministers discussed the importance of enhancing joint action mechanisms and the role of the African Union in supporting peace, security, and development, and in advancing the AU Agenda 2063, in a way that promotes the continent’s strategic interests.
