HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman meets with BBK Chairperson
Manama, Jan. 6 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC), met with Tariq Jaleel AlSaffar, Chairperson of the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK).
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman highlighted the pivotal role of the private sector in supporting development across various domains, including horse racing, in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman noted that strategic partnerships with the private sector represent a fundamental pillar in supporting plans and programmes aimed at enhancing the role of the REHC as an integrated sports and tourism hub, and in advancing the horse racing sector within a comprehensive strategic vision that promotes sustainability, strengthens competitiveness, and reinforces its position as a promising sports and tourism sector.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman commended BBK for its continued cooperation and its role in supporting the efforts and development plans of the REHC to achieve its objectives, noting that the strategic partnership between the REHC and BBK serves as an effective model for private-sector contribution to development plans and reflects a shared sense of national responsibility in advancing the horse racing sector at both regional and international levels.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman noted the continued development of this partnership, which has contributed to strengthening the Club’s position and developing its infrastructure and facilities, enhancing its competitiveness in hosting diverse tournaments and events, and reinforcing its role as an integrated sports and tourism hub.
On his part, the Chairperson of BBK expressed appreciation to HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman for his interest in advancing constructive partnerships with the private sector, commending His Highness’ prominent leadership in developing and advancing the horse racing sector.
The REHC announced a strategic partnership with BBK in support of its development plans aimed at upgrading facilities and enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a leading destination for horse racing.
The agreement, which includes BBK’s sponsorship of one of the Club’s development projects, was signed by Yusuf Osama Buheji, Chief Executive Officer of the REHC, and Yaser Alsharifi, Group Chief Executive of BBK, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.
Buheji said that the agreement represents an extension of the partnerships the Club is committed to enhance with private sector institutions, contributing to the support of development projects in the horse racing sector and enhancing Bahrain’s presence on the global racing map, praising BBK’s continued support.
On his part, Alsharifi underlined BBK’s commitment to continue supporting the REHC through sponsoring development projects, championships and international races, as part of the Bank’s national role in supporting vital sectors in the Kingdom, noting that the development witnessed in the horse racing sector has been a key driver in strengthening this partnership.
