Sunni Endowments Council: Eid Al Fitr prayers to be held at 6:00 am in designated mosques

Manama, Mar. 18 (BNA): Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, announced that Eid Al Fitr prayers will be held at 6:00 am in the main Jami’ mosques and several mosques temporarily converted into Jami’ mosques during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. This decision follows the inability to hold Eid prayers in the main open-air prayer areas due to current circumstances.

The chairman, on behalf of the Sunni Endowments Council, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; and the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain on Eid Al Fitr. He wished Bahrain and all Muslim countries continued security and safety.

Shaikh Dr. Al Hajri explained that the mosques used as Jami’ mosques during Ramadan will also host Eid Al Fitr prayers. He emphasised that the religious guidance provided by the Endowments is based on balance and wisdom, focusing on what brings people together and supports stability. He noted that a united society is the primary defense against challenges, and that religious values always call for cooperation and peace among all members of the community.

In Muharraq Governorate, the mosques include: Al Bourshaid Mosque (Hidd), Haya bint Mohammed Al Bufalsa Mosque (Hidd - Cabin), Aisha Al Rasheed Mosque (Diyar Al Muharraq), Ummahat Al Mo'minin Mosque (Arad), Osama bin Zaid Mosque (Arad), Al Bin Khater Mosque, Ali bin Ibrahim Al Zayani Mosque (Muharraq), Omar bin Abdulaziz Mosque, South Busaiteen Mosque, and Hessa Al Ammari Mosque (Al Sayh).

In the Southern Governorate, the mosques include: Al Ikhlas Mosque (Isa Town), Badria Mirbati Mosque (East Riffa - Buhair), Isa bin Isa Mosque (East Riffa), Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Mosque (East Riffa), Shaikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa Mosque (East Riffa), Al Bukawara Mosque (East Riffa), Abi Abdullah Salman Al Farsi Mosque (East Riffa), Al Muhajirin Mosque (East Riffa - Hajiyat), Hunain Mosque (East Riffa - Bukawara), Amr bin Al Aas Mosque (East Riffa), and Shaikha Fatima bint Ahmed Al Khalifa Mosque (Zallaq).

In the Northern Governorate, the mosques include: Al Duwaisan Mosque (Hamad Town - Roundabout 1), Al Aziz Mosque (Hamad Town - Roundabout 5), Abdulrahman bin Ouf Mosque (Hamad Town - Roundabout 10), Abu Ayub Al Ansari Mosque (Hamad Town - Roundabout 21), Asmaa Dhat Al Nitaqin Mosque (Hamad Town - Roundabout 21), and Hamza bin Abdulmuttalib Mosque (Hamad Town - Roundabout 21).

In the Capital Governorate, Eid prayers will be held at Saad bin Abi Waqqas Mosque in Umm Al Hassam.

The Chairman emphasised that, due to the current circumstances the Kingdom is passing through and to ensure the safety of worshippers, the esteemed preachers are requested to follow these instructions:

Eid prayers shall be held in the Jami’ mosques approved by the Sunni Endowments Council at exactly 6:00 am.

The duration of the prayer and the sermon (Khutbah) must not exceed 15 minutes.

Prayers are not to be held in Eid open-air prayer areas.

Shaikh Dr. Al Hajri reminded the esteemed preachers of the importance of praying for the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Majesty the King, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, all Muslim countries, the members of Bahrain’s armed forces, the Bahraini people, and all those residing on its land.
