London, Dec. 5 (BNA): Professor Marika Patarini Polson, Secretary-General of Bahrain’s International Dispute Resolution Council, spoke at the main conference of “London Arbitration Week 2025”, joining a panel on how shifting geopolitical conditions are reshaping the rule of law and creating new risks and opportunities for alternative dispute resolution.

The conference, the headline event of the week, gathered leading international arbitration experts to discuss current trends, challenges and reforms shaping the global dispute-resolution landscape.

Professor Polson addressed the impact of geopolitical fragmentation, economic sanctions and pressure on national courts, noting how these factors influence the choice of arbitral seats, enforcement strategies and the broader role of ADR. She emphasised the growing importance of cross-border rule-of-law principles in maintaining certainty for international business, highlighting Bahrain’s efforts to strengthen its legal environment for complex disputes.

The panel also included Lord Bellamy, Judge Tim Eicke and international arbitrator Toby Landau, who discussed the evolution of the rule of law and the expanding role of ADR in a multipolar world.

Bahrain’s participation reflects its commitment to international cooperation, the exchange of best practices and continued development of a reliable legal framework for resolving global disputes.
